We can bring our own non-potable water

14 Aug 2015 - Great Weekend DIY Projects

Weekend DIY projects are, in many people’s opinion, the best DIY projects to take on, whether you are experienced or just starting out.  The reason for them being so popular is because of the fact that they take a weekend or less, and because of the fact that we are so busy these days, we really do not have time to spend on DIY projects during the week.  Because of this, if you tackle a project that will take longer than two days, you may need take more than one weekend to get the job done, and everyone hates having work laying around that is half done.  For that reason, weekend DIY projects are great.  They can add value to your home, either in the sense of the physical value of your home, or in the sense that it makes your life at home easier.

Great Weekend DIY ProjectsThe first thing you can do is to add storage to your home’s entry.  Of course, not all homes will have enough space for large cupboards and so forth, so just installing a small shelving station should be fine as well.  When you enter your home, the first thing you probably do is to go and put down your things, which could lead to the living room or your bedroom becoming a mess.  For this reason it is very practical to have some sort of storage at the entrance of your home, and if you are able to put a key-hanger on the wall, you will find it even more useful.

If you feel that your home does not look as great from the front as it should, you could spend some time on making the entrance (on the outside) a little more inviting.  Paint your door a lovely color and give attention to detail such as the trim and any other accents.  Also, if you feel like it, install lighting to provide light to the walkway.  This will improve your home’s curb appeal a lot.

There are some homes that are extremely lovely, but they lack that extra factor.  Sometimes it is hard to put your finger on it, and if you are finding yourself in such a situation, you should perhaps take a look at your home’s lighting.  Lighting makes all of the difference in a home and it alone can transform a home’s look from good to amazing, so it is worth paying attention to.

Last but not least, if you really want something quick to do and you have no idea what, try installing a new faucet in your kitchen or bathroom, because it functions as an accent and it will look good if you choose a nice one.  If that is something you do not want to do, consider installing a new shower head.  There are many benefits to doing so, including saving water, having better pressure, etc.
